please don’t be put off coming on a Sunday if you think your little one won’t be quiet – we’re very used to it, and can provide a comfortable area for you to go to during the service if necessary! We also have a TOTS group running on Friday mornings from 10.00 am at our sister church in Duffield.
this is our group for children ages 3 to 11 – all are welcome! They will be taught stories from the Bible and entertained with age-appropriate games and crafts.
Here at St Paul’s we believe that children are important to God and are an integral part of the life of the church. God’s word is as relevant for children and young people as it is for adults, so we have an enthusiastic team of leaders who aim to teach them the Bible in an enjoyable and stretching way.
Our aim is to make Explorers a warm and welcoming place where children can feel secure and happy as they grow in faith through sharing friendships and experiences within a framework of relevant biblical teaching.
Our aim is to teach the Bible to children in an engaging and enjoyable way using a variety of presentations, songs, drama, prayer, crafts and activities. The children spend some time together and then split into smaller groups with those of their own age.
Explorers happens each Sunday during our afternoon service. During school holidays there is still provision for children, though the sessions will be a bit different to those during term time.
Explorers meet with the rest of the church family at the start of the 4.30pm service. If you’re able to join us for refreshments before the service, do come along from 4pm for a drink and some cake/biscuits. When the service starts, we stay in church for a couple of songs, and then the children leave with their leaders. The children are returned to their parents at the end of the service (5.30pm)!
Our annual Holiday Club, run in conjunction with St Alkmund’s in Duffield, is free and open to all primary-aged children including those about to start in Reception and those about to move up into year 7. It usually runs in the last week of the school summer holidays.
Each morning we sing songs, play games, do crafts and find out about Jesus in the Bible. We spend some time together and other time in age-related groups. Previous years have been a lot of fun, and we’re sure this year will be no different.
